JOB TITLE: LCS SITE SUPERVISOR – RUSTENBURG

We are seeking an LCS Site Supervisor to join our Rustenburg LCS team. You will be responsible for providing Metso’s customers with professional technical support of its products.

This position is responsible for building and maintaining an active long-term relationship with key decision makers at customer site level and continuously promote Metso’s value adding offering. Create a healthy business with high customer satisfaction.

In this position, you will report to the Site Manager.

This position is mainly located in Rustenburg Northwest at the Waterval Smelters Site.

TEAM YOU BELONG TO

You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders, such as LCS Support Centre to assure a common understanding/application of technical and safety support and information to support and provide excellent customer service on Metso’s equipment.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

You are responsible for the following per your allocated area of responsibility:

Including but not limited to the following operations:
Site Operations.
Pressure Filter Project upgrades and modernizations.
Responsible for the Health & Safety Culture on site.
Responsible for delivery according to the scope of contract and any deviations from the agreement.
Responsible to ensure process compliance of the site.
Responsible for all communications i.e. performance reviews, daily, weekly and monthly reporting as well as escalation of issues.
Managing the site stakeholder relationship including the customer, suppliers and service providers.
Supervise operators to ensure consistent plant utilization and metallurgical performance while promoting a safe work environment.
Perform regular inspections of all plant areas to ensure best operating practices are being followed
Diagnose plant operating deficiencies and bring resolution.
Perform routine inspection of plant equipment and auxiliaries to ensure safe operating condition and effectiveness.
Diagnose plant defects focusing on identifying root cause and coordinate maintenance works with engineering staff.
Report on shift activities and performance indicators. Focus on equipment availability and operational shortfalls.
Be enthusiastic and pro-active in view of driving the team to achieve production targets. Contribute to transferring skills to the staff.

Other responsibilities include:
Functional Planning/ Scheduling.
People Management.
Comply with all Occupational Health, Safety and Environmental requirements.
Plan and direct plant production volume to meet delivery dates.

Requirements & Competences

Safety mindset
Experience in site or production management
Good people management skills.
Project management skills understanding Metso technologies and service offerings and processes.
A hands-on supervisor for Metso equipment oversees for e.g pressure filter daily preventive inspection of pressure filter equipment, ensuring they run efficiently and safely.
Relevant Trade /qualification or similar skills acquired by experience.
Diploma in Metallurgical Engineering or Mineral Processing will be beneficial.
At least 1-3 years relevant experience in mining or similar industry environment.
Ability to follow instructions and guidelines.
Process start-up experience would be a plus.
Strong PC skills using office software such as Excel, Word and Power Point.

WHO YOU ARE

Grade 12 (Matric)
Technical qualification (Trade test)
Experience in Mechanical Maintenance
Leading the operational team
Relevant industry knowledge including international business relations
Maintenance planning and scheduling
Planning and organising risk management.

Highly motivated individual with the ability to work under stress and meet the deadlines
Must be capable of effectively and accurately working on several projects at one time and (organizing, prioritizing tasks and working in a fast-paced environment)

Strong management and communication skills, team building skills, drive and performance orientation
