Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for a Site Agent based in the City of Cape Town. The Site Agent will oversee the day-to-day management of construction sites, ensuring projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget. Tasks include project planning and scheduling, coordinating workers, supervising subcontractors, ensuring adherence to safety standards, managing materials and resources, and maintaining quality control. The Site Agent will regularly liaise with clients, architects, and engineering teams and provide timely progress reports to stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and coordinate all site activities, staff, and subcontractors
  • Ensure works are executed in accordance with drawings and specifications
  • Monitor and drive progress against the construction programme
  • Enforce health & safety compliance and promote a safe working environment
  • Control material usage, deliveries, and site resources
  • Manage quality control, inspections, and defect close-out
  • Maintain accurate site records, reports, and documentation
  • Liaise with consultants, subcontractors, and project stakeholders
  • Identify and resolve site issues to maintain productivity

Minimum Requirements

  • Diploma/Degree in Civil Engineering / Construction Management
  • Minimum 5–10 years’ experience in construction, with site management exposure
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, drawings, and specifications
  • Proven experience managing subcontractors and site teams
  • Knowledge of JBCC contracts and OHS requirements
  • Good communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
