Atlas Saw & Tool is a Fletcher Business Group company, are currently seeking a shipping associate. This person will be responsible for the shipping and receiving function. Works effectively and efficiently in a warehouse environment to receive and schedule shipping and freight operations, including developing a working knowledge of warehouse organization and creating proper and detailed shipping documentation.
Qualifications
Strong track record of safety performance
Must be responsible, reliable and take ownership of assigned duties
Ability to establish effective rapport with all levels of employees, delivery drivers, and at times, customers that come on sight
Solid computer skills
Ability to take initiative and organize their own work independently
Strong organizational skills
Responsibilities:
Packs and unpacks orders while maintaining department schedule
Effectively uses organization systems and warehouse technology to locate and gather stock
Creates shipping labels and handles shipping information
Keeps organized shipping records, including statements of origin, shipping costs, products shipped, and receipt dates
Develops knowledge about shipping regulations and practices
Responsible for ensuring that received good are placed in their proper location as well as to set and maintain locations
Receive shipments and sign paperwork upon receipt
Load/Unload packages from incoming trucks
Inspect contents to ensure they are undamaged
Verify packages according to order and invoices (quantity, quality, price, shipping method etc.)
Assume responsibility for returning unsatisfactory shipments or receiving replacements
Label deliveries and allocate them to their designated place
Physical Demands:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Education/Experience:
Typically requires a high school diploma or its equivalent.
Previous shipping experience a plus
Must be able interpret documents such as operating and maintenance instructions, safety rules, and procedure manuals
Knowledgeable in warehousing procedures
Attention to detail is a must
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 – $17.00 per hour
