What You Can Expect
Complete tasks from the previous shift, place raw materials on the production floor, prepare solutions, and handle loading and unloading of bulk tankers.
Prepare filtering equipment, ensure accurate product weight, and verify Quality Control approval before filling drums. Seal filled drums to make them weatherproof.
Record daily dips of bulk stock tanks and other required data, ensuring bulk tanks are not overfilled.
Obtain and label samples of dispersion for quality control analysis.
Use a forklift to transport raw materials and finished products.
Assist the foreman in monitoring the DCS, monitor scrubbers, and replace or remove contaminated solutions.
Maintain high safety and housekeeping standards, clean and recharge caustic scrubber holding tanks, and clean operating areas around the plant.
Take immediate action to minimize damage and clean up in case of spillages.
Act as a deputy for Shift Utility Operator and other Shift Plant Operators in their absence.
Perform any additional duties within your ability or experience as required.
What You Offer
Grade 12 with Mathematics and Science
Minimum NQF level 2 in Chemical Operation learnership
Forklift license
Preferred: NQF level 3 Chemical Operations or higher
