Job Summary
Responsible and accountable for optimum functioning of the shift, to ensure production targets are managed daily whilst generating minimum waste. Accountable to the Production Manager, the Shift Supervisor will oversee all functions including equipment, machinery, product, quality and staffing. They are accountable to the Production Manager.
Key Performance Areas:
· Production outputs, waste, off-spec and absenteeism
· Manage full production force
· Ensuring minor breakdowns and faults are attended to and resolved quickly
· Ensuring all safety procedures are adhered to whilst on shift
· Staff management and supervision
Skills and Experience Required:
· NQF3/4
· Introduction to PVC course training would be advantageous
· Experience in Quality control
· A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing/production environment.
· A minimum of 3 years experience training and mentoring junior staff
· Hands on experience in solving technical problems and the ability to troubleshoot
· Hands on experience in resolving minor breakdowns
· Strong communicator, able to lead and manage teams and encourage high performance
· Basic IT literacy for reporting purposes and willingness to learn
· Well-spoken and professional
· Ability to work in a team
· Ability to work with minimum supervision
· Ability to perform under pressure
