INVITATION TO SUBMIT APPLICATION FOR THE FOLLOWING VACANT POSITION AT SOUTH 32-WESSELS MINE:
1 x Shift Supervisor
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
· Grade 12 or equivalent
· Bachelor’s Degree (NQF7) in Mining/Engineering/Quantity survey or equivalent (advantageous)
· Underground blasting certificate for Metalliferous mines essential
· 5 years’ experience in hard rock mining environment as shift supervisor
· Driver’s license (code B or C1)
· Medically fit
· Shift Supervisory training (advantageous)
DUTIES AND RESPONSILIBITIES
· Coordinate with the Mine Site Manager and other supervisors to execute the production plan for the shift.
· Assign tasks and responsibilities to team members to optimize productivity and achieve production targets
· Oversee the operation of mining equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
· Conduct routine inspections to identify maintenance needs and ensure compliance with maintenance schedules.
· Lead and supervise a team of operators, technicians and support staff during the shift.
· Prepare shift reports documenting production activities, equipment performance, safety incidents and any notable occurrences.
· Demonstrate a strong commitment to safety by enforcing safety policies, procedures and regulations.
· Conduct pre-shift safety meetings to communicate safety hazards, work instructions and emergency procedures.
· Monitor work activities to ensure compliance with safety protocols and intervene to address unsafe behavior or conditions.
