Job Description
Job responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Ensure safe, compliant operation of the plant section in line with SHEQ standards, permits, and fatal risk controls.
- Deliver shift production targets within agreed quality, throughput, and cost parameters.
- Maximise plant, process, and equipment availability through effective coordination and rapid response to disruptions.
- Monitor and control process parameters, material usage, sampling accuracy, and inventory to required standards.
- Lead, coach, and develop shift teams, ensuring competency, discipline, motivation, and effective employee relations.
- Chair shift safety meetings, drive hazard identification, incident reporting, investigations, and preventative actions.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping, asset care, and equipment usage in line with site standards.
- Execute effective shift administration, including accurate reporting, time & attendance, and system compliance.
- Support continuous improvement through audits, process optimisation ideas, and implementation of corrective actions.
- Contribute to overall business unit performance through cost control, governance compliance, and stakeholder satisfaction.
This role is at GBF 7 level reporting to the Day Shift Leader
Qualifications
- NQF 4 Matric with Maths and Science
- Completed Shift Leader Development Program will be advantageous
Experience
- 10 years’ work experience in Process, of which 3 years at Process Supervisor
Technical Knowledge And Skills
- Computer literacy, functional in SAP
- Experience in Smelting and or Converter Operations, 6 in line furnace experience will be an advantage.
- Have experience in mineral processing applications viz. Milling and floatation will be advantageous
- Passed all requirements as per the skills matrix will be advantageous
