The Haven Night Shelter Organisation’s method is to offer social work services, rehabilitation opportunities, family reunification services, physical care, and support to adult people living on the streets who are committed to reintegration.
The Haven Night Shelter Welfare Organisation requires the services of a dynamic manager for our Bellville shelter.
Minimum Requirements:
Matric
Driver’s licence
An honest, healthy, sober person
Good people skills and supervisory experience
Excellent communication (verbal and written) skills
Intermediate computer skills and able to compile reports
Experience in NGOs or a similar working environment will be an advantage
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage the day-to-day activities of The Haven Night Shelter – Bellville.
Ensure efficient and effective management of operations at the shelter, with accountability for all staff members employed at the shelter.
Report to the Operations Manager and Shelter Committee at monthly meetings for governance purposes.
Ensure sound controls for accurate recording of all income and expenses.
Realize the budget, including fundraising, shelter fee collection, and cost control.
Account for goods in kind donations.
Ensure each client receives necessary attention from the social worker, with interventions aligned with the mission and vision of the Haven.
Ensure resources are available for social workers and clients to execute exit plans leading to family reunification or reintegration.
Develop systems with staff, Operations Manager, and head office to ensure high-quality care for clients.
Use skills and resources to enhance food security and welfare service delivery to surrounding communities.
