Are you a skilled technician with a passion for problem-solving and continuous improvement? Nampak is looking for a dynamic and experienced Technician to join our team and play a critical role in ensuring smooth production operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide mechanical support to the production team.
Identify and track machine-related issues, ensuring their resolution in maintenance schedules.
Assist in size conversions of various can sizes and troubleshooting production issues.
Minimize downtime and spoilage while ensuring smooth production operations.
Conduct and participate in root cause analysis (RCA) and 5-Why problem-solving to improve efficiency.
Maintain adherence to quality procedures, parameters, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Train and support operators and can makers to improve machine operation and production output.
Identify and escalate training needs for production staff.
Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental regulations.
Be available for after-hours call-outs in case of emergency breakdowns.
The ideal candidate should have the following:
Matric Certificate
Mechanical Trade Certificate (Fitter & Turner or Toolmaker)
Minimum 5 years in a production environment
Specialized experience in mechanical maintenance
Understanding of the can manufacturing process and related equipment
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
Knowledge of maintenance best practices and quality systems
Coaching & mentoring abilities
Computer literacy & communication skills
Operational excellence knowledge
