Location: Pinetown
Our client is seeking a Senior Test Technician with an electronics manufacturing background to take responsibility for the testing, troubleshooting, and validation of electronic assemblies and PCBAs. This role requires an experienced individual who can work independently, support
continuous improvement
of test processes, and act as a technical mentor on the production floor.
Responsibilities:
Test PCBAs and electronic assemblies (functional and in-circuit)
Develop and maintain LabVIEW test scripts
Calibrate and maintain test equipment and fixtures
Support Test Engineers in improving test processes
Troubleshoot failures and perform root cause analysis
Document results and maintain test records
Mentor Junior Technicians and Operators
Ensure compliance with ESD, IPC, and ISO
9001 standards
Coordinate with Production and Quality teams on test coverage
Provide frontline support for test-related production issues
Required Skills and Experience:
National Diploma or N3/N6 in Electrical/Electronic Engineering (or equivalent)
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in electronic manufacturing testing
Proficient in developing test solutions using LabVIEW
Strong fault-finding and component-level troubleshooting abilities
Hands-on experience with test instruments (e.g., oscilloscopes, multimeters, spectrum analyzers)
Solid understanding of PCBA and system-level testing processes
Competent in reading and interpreting schematics and wiring diagrams
Familiar with ESD protocols and ISO
9001 quality standards
