Description of Role and Responsibilities
The overall job objective includes but is not limited to the following responsibilities:
User administration
Database documentation, including operational standards and policies
Disaster recovery planning
Patch management of RDBMS
SQL best practices and optimization
Core Competencies
Must have solid technical knowledge and experience with:
Minimum 7 years SQL Server database administration experience
Minimum 4 years working experience with SQL / / /
All forms of SQL replication
Always On Availability Groups
Must have working experience in:
SQL Server / / and / /)
Transact-SQL
Replication (Merge and Transactional)
Skills and Application
Development and testing support
Performance analysis and tuning
Diagnosing performance problems
SQL query optimization
Design improvements for performance
Backup creation and recovery testing
Capacity planning
Use of change logs for remote database synchronization
Additional Requirements
Experience working within project management frameworks
Willingness to perform tasks outside direct job scope for project success
Ability to assist team with investigations, analysis, and solutions delivery
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Input into technical architecture decisions
Identify and improve current processes and standards
Manage bug resolutions with vendors
Willingness to travel and work after hours, including standby
