Our client, a premier development management company with a focus on sustainable growth and innovative solutions, is seeking a highly experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to become a vital part of their newly established Cape Town office. This high-performance role offers unique opportunities to work on cross-border projects, with occasional travel to Windhoek, Namibia, and various project sites.
Where You’ll Make an Impact:
Lead and oversee all quantity surveying activities for diverse development projects across South Africa and Namibia.
Collaborate closely with project teams to ensure cost control, budgeting, and procurement processes align with project goals.
Provide expert advice on contractual and financial aspects of development projects.
Drive value engineering initiatives and risk management strategies.
Contribute to the growth and strategic direction of the new Cape Town office.
Duties:
Prepare and manage detailed cost estimates and budgets.
Negotiate contracts and procurement agreements.
Monitor project expenditures and financial progress.
Ensure contractual compliance and manage variations.
Liaise with clients, contractors, and internal teams to ensure seamless project execution.
Requirements:
Minimum of 10 years’ experience in quantity surveying within the development or construction industry.
Proven track record of managing large-scale projects.
Strong understanding of South African and Namibian construction regulations and contractual procedures.
Excellent negotiation, communication, and leadership skills.
Relevant professional qualification (e.g., Pr.QS or equivalent).
Nice to Have:
Experience with cross-border projects and international standards.
Exposure to sustainable and innovative building practices.
