Job Purpose:
Responsible for establishing and maintaining project management standards, overseeing the project management team and portfolio of projects, managing resources, and ensuring that all projects are delivered in line with strategic objectives, efficiently, on time and within budget.
Driving successful project execution, aligning project outcomes with business goals, and continuously improving processes.
Qualifications:
Matric (Grade 12).
N Diploma/B Degree in Electrical Engineering.
N Diploma/B Degree in Project Management(Advantage).
Project Management accreditation.
Experience:
7-10 years project engineering or management in industrial projects.
5 years of plant maintenance or installations work.
5 years’ experience in Design, Electrical & Project Engineering (CAD System).
5 years’ experience in managing cross-functional teams and large-scale projects.
5 years’ experience in FIDIC, JBCC, GCC or NEC Contract Management.
5 years’ experience in leadership role within a Project Management Office (PMO) (Advantage).
Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning & Governance:
Establish and manage the PMO’s frameworks, methodologies, and standards.
Align project objectives with business goals and strategy.
Ensure compliance with governance standards across all projects.
Project Oversight & Execution:
Oversee the management and delivery of all projects within the organization.
Monitor project performance (budget, schedule, scope, risks) and provide regular reports to senior management.
Ensure all projects meet deadlines, quality standards, and client or stakeholder expectations.
Resource Management:
Manage project managers and support staff, assigning appropriate resources to ensure projects are adequately staffed.
Plan and allocate budgets, workforce, and other resources for project success.
Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
Process Improvement & Innovation:
Implement and promote best practices in project management.
Continually improve project delivery processes, tools, and templates.
Stakeholder Management & Communication:
Ensure effective communication across project teams and stakeholders, providing updates on progress, risks, and outcomes.
Financial & Budget Control:
Monitor project budgets and ensure financial accountability.
General:
Contractual management and controlling of the project (whether FIDIC, JBCC, GCC or NEC).
