Role Summary
The Senior Project Manager leads delivery of large, complex, or multi-workstream engagements — owning the integrated plan, commercials, senior stakeholder relationships, and delivery governance. The role operates with significant autonomy, deputizing for the Delivery Manager where required, and coaching PMs across the program.
Key Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end delivery of major workstreams or a portfolio of projects: integrated planning, cross-workstream dependencies, and critical path management.
- Lead delivery governance: steering committee preparation, executive status reporting, stage-gate reviews, and escalation management.
- Manage project commercials: budget tracking, forecasting, resource planning, invoicing milestones, and change request commercial impact.
- Own senior stakeholder relationships on the client side; negotiate priorities, manage expectations, and resolve conflicts constructively.
- Drive risk management at a strategic level: anticipate delivery risks across teams, define mitigation strategies, and manage contingency.
- Lead, coach, and quality-assure the work of Project Managers and Scrum Masters; establish delivery standards and templates.
- Oversee vendor and subcontractor delivery against SLAs and contractual commitments.
- Contribute to account growth: identify opportunities, support proposals, estimation, and delivery solutioning for new scope.
Required Skills & Experience
- Proven track record delivering complex, multi-team technology engagements (data platforms, cloud, AI, or large application builds) end to end.
- Strong commercial management experience: budgets, forecasts, margins, and contract/CR management.
- Expertise across Agile at scale and hybrid governance models; ability to tailor methodology pragmatically.
- Executive-level communication and stakeholder management skills, including steering committees and difficult conversations.
- Experience leading and developing other PMs; strong delegation and quality assurance discipline.
- Sound technical understanding of modern data, cloud, and AI delivery to make credible trade-off decisions.
Preferred / Nice to Have
- PMP and/or PRINCE2 Practitioner plus an Agile at scale credential (SAFe, MSP).
- Experience with government or regulated-sector delivery in the Middle East.
- Background delivering AI/GenAI or automation program specifically.
Experience: 12+ years in IT with 6+ years managing complex, multi-team technology projects or small program.
