Senior Project Manager
Role Outline
To manage medium to large projects in line with the project management methodology to achieve successful project delivery.
Manage the overall planning, control, status reporting, stability and project delivery.
Develop detailed project plans, schedules, estimates, resource plans, and status reports to maintain customer satisfaction.
Responsible for managing the budget and reporting progress of the project on an ongoing basis.
Obtain feedback from key stakeholders and provide accurate reporting at critical milestones and manage stakeholder relationships.
Establish reporting structures inside the project team, ensure team engagement and review the performance of project team members.
Projects delivered on time, on budget, within scope and within agreed quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Customer:
Implement strategic project management initiatives.
Manage the overall planning, control, status reporting, stability and delivery of local medium / large projects (single / multi area or product) to ensure that project goals and objectives are met within agreed upon time, scope, budget and resource requirements.
Manage the issues on the project, drive resolution of issues for a satisfactory outcome and escalate issues as appropriate.
Manage the scope of the project. Document scope changes and gain approval by required parties to ensure benefit realization.
Manage the budget of the project and resolve all spending issues.
Function as a subject matter expert in area where the project manager has expertise (e.g. automation, specific IT systems, inventory control etc.).
Stakeholder:
Manage project progress to all stakeholders in accordance with a well-structured communications plan and ensure all communication is tailored to stakeholder needs.
Ensure the health of the project, manage project risks and mitigation plans and ensure these risks are proactively communicated.
Process:
Responsible for implementing the DePICT project management methodology and risk management process. Ensuring the Plan View system reflects the projects status at the end of every week.
Deliver best practice project documentation, completed to quality standards, kept up to date, available throughout the project and maintained in the project database.
Manage the application of the ACT change management methodology and approach. Identify, manage and influence stakeholders to achieve business benefits.
Provide project management support to the sales / bid management process.
Manage project performance against the business cases and implement action plans to ensure benefit realization.
Manage performance to health and safety standards.
Implement previous lessons learnt output and feedback to drive continuous improvement.
To fully understand and measure the compliance to O2D.
People Management:
Identify the project resource, roles and responsibilities, SMEs required to deliver the business benefits.
Lead the project team to accomplish the tasks as outlined, manage change and deliver business benefits.
Manage the performance of project team members.
Qualifications & Experience
Education:
Matric.
University degree (essential).
Professional project management certification e.g. PMP, Prince 2 Practitioner.
Change Management qualification (advantageous).
Experience:
6+ years of experience in logistics (desirable).
Agile project management experience (beneficial).
DePICT project management methodology, PM101 (essential).
ACT change management methodology (essential).
DMAIC process improvement methodology (desirable).
Knowledge of the O2D process via in-house training.
