As the leading medical recruitment agency in South Africa, our client has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Professional Nurse – Theatre based in Welkom, Free State, South Africa. The Senior Professional Nurse – Theatre is to ensure a safe, positive patient experience by supporting the unit manager in the co-ordination of patient care and management of the unit.
Responsibilities:
Ensure comprehensive and safe patient care by mitigating risks and meeting set clinical quality standards.
Manage the patient experience.
Ensure optimal supply, retention and utilisation of staffing resources.
Empower and build staff competence through continuous assessment and development.
Assist with the effective management of operational expenses (including stock and capital).
Pharmacology.
Nursing record keeping.
Nursing processes and procedures.
Relevant nursing legislation.
Infection prevention and control.
Audit patient records.
Patient assessment skills.
Develop/modify a nursing care plan.
Risk identification.
Mentorship.
Requirements:
Registered Nurse with a valid SANC registration.
Qualified as a Midwife.
Post basic qualification if operating room.
Min 3 years experience in a private hospital with a theatre role.
Basic life support, ACLS; ATLS; PALS trained.
Computer literate (Microsoft Office).
Salary: Market related.
Location: Welkom, Free State.
