ABOUT
THE ROLE
This position is a full-time position reporting directly to the Head of Manufacturing and works closely with other team members in other departments.
The Senior Production Manager is responsible for Successfully Leading and controlling day-to-day production operations to consistently deliver on-time production, luxury quality, and cost-effective output. This role owns production planning & control, stock control discipline, team performance, and factory organisation (5S)—ensuring stable, repeatable processes with minimal rework and downtime.
This is an ONSITE role which requires you to work from our factory in Montague Gardens, Cape Town.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead end-to-end production delivery to consistently achieve plan adherence, output, and on-time production targets.
- Own production planning and control to ensure stable execution, proactive recovery actions, and minimal disruption.
- Drive stock control discipline across production to prevent parts shortages, losses, and line stoppages.
- Maintain and enforce quality standards by embedding quality ownership into daily operations and reducing defects/rework.
- Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety standards and promote a safe, disciplined factory culture.
- Manage employee performance and conduct , building accountability, capability, and consistent execution across teams.
- Establish and sustain a strong factory organisation (5S) and visual management to improve flow, cleanliness, and operational control.
- Lead structured problem‑solving and continuous improvement to remove bottlenecks, improve throughput, and stabilise processes.
- Ensure accurate and timely ERP production system governance , enabling reliable planning, reporting, and decision‑making.
- Deliver daily, weekly, and monthly production reporting that provides clear performance visibility and escalates risks early.

- ERP discipline: capable of ensuring accurate production confirmations, stock movements, and data integrity.
- Problem‑solving: structured RCA, corrective actions, and prevention‑focused thinking.
- Performance management: capable of coaching, setting expectations, and addressing conduct issues fairly and decisively.
- Reporting and communication: clear reporting of performance, risks, and trade‑offs to leadership.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Formal qualification preferred:
Diploma/Degree in Production Management, Operations, Industrial Engineering - 5–10+ years in a production/manufacturing (FMCG) Management role.
- Proven track record delivering quality production output and schedule adherence.
- Experience with production planning & control , SMV/productivity improvement, and shop‑floor execution.
- Strong exposure to stock control processes and production‑to‑warehouse material flow.
- Experience using and governing an ERP system for production (orders, confirmations, stock movements, reporting).
- Demonstrated leadership capability in performance and conduct management of employees.
This is an ONSITE position, and you will be expected to come into our office/factory in Montague Gardens, Cape Town, during working hours.
Salary: R50,000 – R60,000 CTC per month, depending on experience
