Senior IT Administrator Jobs in South Africa at Sellsius

Title: Senior IT Administrator

Company: Sellsius

Location: South Africa

Title: Senior IT Systems Administrator

Working Hours: US (3pm-12am SAST)

Location: Remote – South Africa

About the Role

The Director of Systems, Information & Process Engineering owns technology strategy, architecture, and prioritization; this role owns operational execution keeping our business systems running, secure, documented, and continuously improving, and driving technology projects from kickoff to go-live. This is an execution and ownership role, not a strategy role. You will be given direction on priorities and architecture; your job is to make things happen reliably, communicate proactively when something is off-track, and never let scope or risk go unspoken.

What You’ll Own

Systems Administration

• Serve as primary administrator across core business systems (Salesforce, Freshdesk, Monday.com, and supporting platforms).

• Manage user provisioning, deprovisioning, permissions, and access audits.

• Troubleshoot day-to-day issues and coordinate with vendors on fixes, upgrades, and maintenance windows.

• Maintain living documentation for every system you administer, configuration, processes, and known issues.

Salesforce Administration

• Own configuration, workflows, page layouts, and user management.

• Build and maintain reports and dashboards for business stakeholders.

• Partner with the Director to scope and deliver ongoing enhancements.

Project Coordination

• Run technology and systems projects end-to-end: planning, timeline, testing, implementation, and vendor coordination.

• Track milestones and proactively flag schedule or scope risk before it becomes a surprise.

• Support new system rollouts and enhancements identified by the Director.

Reliability & Continuous Improvement

• Ensure systems remain organized, well-documented, and properly maintained.

• Identify recurring issues and propose fixes rather than repeatedly patching symptoms.

What Stays with the Director For clarity: technology strategy, architecture decisions, roadmap prioritization, budget approval, vendor contract negotiation, and executive reporting remain with the Director of Systems, Information & Process Engineering. This role executes within that direction and is expected to surface tradeoffs, not make strategic calls unilaterally.

What Success Looks Like (First 12 Months)

• Full documentation coverage for all administered systems, with a maintained knowledge base.

• Consistent on-time, on-scope delivery of assigned projects, with risks flagged at least one milestone before they hit.

• Measurable reduction in recurring/repeat support tickets through root-cause fixes.

• Salesforce enhancement backlog actively managed with clear status visible to stakeholders.

What You Bring

• 5-8 years of experience spanning IT systems administration, Salesforce administration, and/or technical project coordination.

• Salesforce Certified Administrator required; Advanced Administrator certification a strong plus.

• Hands-on experience with a business ERP (SAP Business One or similar) preferred.

• Working familiarity with BI/reporting tools (Power BI or similar) and helpdesk/ticketing platforms (Freshdesk/Freshservice or similar).

• Track record of managing multi-stakeholder projects from scoping through go-live.

• Excellent written communication and comfortable structuring updates around problem, action taken, and resolution.

• A demonstrated habit of surfacing problems early rather than absorbing or quietly managing around them.

Interview Focus

Candidates should expect behavioral questions on: handling scope creep mid-project, triaging competing priorities in a single day, a Salesforce configuration decision that had unintended consequences, documentation practices, and how they’ve delivered difficult news to a stakeholder.
