Job Description

  • The Senior HR Officer will support the HR Manager with provision of HR Services to Axium.
  • Plays a critical role in supporting the organisation's Human Resources function.
  • Implementing HR strategies, policies, and processes while ensuring compliance with labor laws and fostering a positive work environment within Axium.
  • This is the multi-jurisdictional role covering other locations and sites in the Eastern Cape .
  • The role will report to the HR Manager based in Zithulele Eastern Cape .

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Coordinating recruitment and onboarding, managing employee movements.
  • Facilitating performance management, Maintaining fair labor relations, and contributing in maintaining a positive work environment.
  • This role also involves assisting in compliance with Employment Equity and Occupational Health and Safety and other legislation.
  • Support HR team in implementing Social Employment fund program as part of Axium growth plan.
  • Assist HR Manager in implementing Axium training and development plan in collaboration with the Central Ed Unit.
  • Assisting in managing the organization’s wellness program, and managing Axium leave processes, by maintaining accurate records. Supporting and implementing strategic planning for the entire organisation.
  • Collaborating with the HR Manager and other stakeholders.
  • The Senior HR Officer will contribute to a well-structured and productive workplace within the organisation.

Qualifications And Requirements

  • Experience working for NPO is essential.
  • Must have knowledge of project management and be able to initiate and implement HR Projects.
  • Exposure to specialist functions: recruitment, training and development, employee relations, remuneration, employee wellness, is required.
  • Fluent in both English and isiXhosa is a requirement.
  • Drivers License is essential.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with all levels of staff.
  • Highly organized, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure. Qualifications and experience
  • Tertiary qualification Degree in Human Resource Management/ Industrial Psychology or related qualification.
  • 2 – 3 years experience as a Human Resource Officer/ Human Resource Practitioner is required.
  • Experience in recruitment is essential
  • Experience in training and development would be advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of HR best practices, employee relations, and conflict resolution strategies is a must.
  • Knowledge of South African Labour Law, including the Labour Relations Act, BCEA, and other legislations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience in payroll is required .

Technical Competencies

  • Computer Literacy is a requirement (Google Suite, Excel, MS Suite PowerPoint, Microsoft office suite)
  • Knowledge of sourcing techniques on social media and niche professional websites such LinkedIn, Facebook, Indeed etc is required.
  • Proficiency in Human Resource Information Systems
