Are you a detail-driven and dependable accountant looking to join a fast-paced FinTech? Our client is transforming the South African forex space through innovation, automation, and transparency. They’re looking for a Senior Financial Accountant to own the month-end close, strengthen financial reporting, and support cross-functional collaboration within a modern finance team.
This role is ideal for someone who is hands-on, technically strong, and comfortable working remotely with autonomy.
Key Responsibilities:
Month-End & Reporting
Manage the month-end close process and prepare monthly management accounts
Maintain key reconciliations (bank, crypto, revenue, payroll, accruals, intercompany)
Review general ledger accounts and journal entries
Support reporting packs and internal insights alongside the Financial Controller
Compliance & Financial Operations
Prepare and submit VAT, PAYE, UIF, and other statutory returns
Liaise with auditors and assist in preparing audit files
Contribute to annual financial statements and FSCA compliance documents
Ensure adherence to accounting standards and internal policies
Collaboration & Process Improvement
Support and review work prepared by team members
Identify and implement process improvements and automation initiatives
Document processes and help maintain strong internal controls
Work across teams to ensure accurate financial inputs and reporting
Required Experience:
✔ CA(SA), AGA(SA), or equivalent qualification
✔ 1–2 years post-articles experience in a financial accounting or reporting role
✔ Strong technical knowledge of accounting standards and compliance
✔ Proficient in Excel and financial systems (automation experience a plus)
✔ Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability
✔ Comfortable working in a remote, fast-moving environment
✔ Team-oriented and proactive, with a willingness to support and coach others
