We are seeking a seasoned Senior Estimator with a deep specialization in road construction and pavement engineering. In this role, you won’t just be “crunching numbers”—you will be the strategic lead ensuring our bids are competitive, accurate, and technically sound. You’ll work closely with the pre-construction team to deconstruct complex civil engineering projects, from urban arterial roads to major highway expansions.
Required Experience
Minimum 8–10 years in civil engineering estimating, with at least 5 years focused specifically on Roads/Highways.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree or Higher Diploma in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or Construction Management.
Required Competencies
- Full-Cycle Estimating: Lead the preparation of comprehensive “first principle” estimates for large-scale road projects, including earthworks, drainage, surfacing (asphalt/concrete), and ancillary works.
- Tender Strategy: Analyze tender documents, identify project risks, and develop innovative “value engineering” solutions to give us a competitive edge.
- Site Inspections: Conduct thorough site visits to assess ground conditions, logistics, and constraints that impact pricing.
- Subcontractor Management: Build and maintain relationships with specialized subcontractors and material suppliers to secure market-leading rates.
- Bid Adjudication: Present final cost estimates to the Board/Executive team for review, highlighting margin opportunities and potential liabilities.
- Project Handover: Provide a seamless transition of the budget and project methodology to the Site Management and Quantity Surveying teams upon successful award.
