Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to lead and manage electrical engineering projects, ensuring high-quality and cost-effective solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in power systems, electrical design, and project management, particularly in mining and industrial sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead electrical engineering projects from concept to completion.
Design, develop, and implement electrical systems for mining, industrial, and infrastructure projects.
Ensure compliance with industry regulations, safety standards, and client specifications.
Oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical equipment.
Conduct technical analysis, feasibility studies, and risk assessments.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including civil and mechanical engineers.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
Liaise with clients, contractors, and suppliers to ensure project success.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (BEng/BSc).
Professional registration with ECSA (Pr. Eng. or Pr. Tech Eng.) preferred.
10+ years of experience in electrical engineering, with a focus on mining, industrial, or infrastructure projects.
Strong knowledge of MV and HV power systems, substations, transformers, switch gear, and PLC/SCADA systems.
Experience in electrical design software (e.g., ETAP, Dig Silent, AutoCAD Electrical).
Proven track record in project management and leadership.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
