Job Description

Reporting to our Vice President of Engineering, you will join our growing Cloud Engineering team. This is an exciting opportunity to work at the forefront of web technologies, building, maintaining and scaling applications for our global clients.

You will work with modern infrastructure practices including serverless computing, containerisation, and orchestration frameworks, across platforms developed in PHP, NodeJS and Python. Many of these platforms are applying Generative AI capabilities, and you’ll architect and optimise cloud infrastructure to support the latest solutions.

This is a role for a passionate technologist who is excited about shaping the future of cloud-native applications enhanced by AI.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

Review and oversee platform enhancements.

Complete implementations, working well both independently and as part of a team.

Govern our technologies to ensure security standards are met.

Work in a Dev Ops capacity with a desire to automate everything.

Scope and estimate technical web builds.

Conduct architectural reviews.

Develop CI Pipelines.

Practice Site Reliability Engineering concepts and design.

Manage large cloud projects for our clients across multiple countries.

Work with our developers to help share knowledge and improve the quality of practices.

Advise on new technologies to make sure Jellyfish’s products are always evolving.

Qualifications

Excellent Cloud knowledge in AWS / Google Cloud.

An understanding of microservice and serveless architectures.

Understand performance enhancement technologies (CDN, Caching).

Understand networking fundamentals.

Proficient in Dockerising applications.

Knowledge of managing applications deployed to Kubernetes (EKS).

Knowledge of Terraform or other IaC technologies.

Helm/ArgoCD knowledge.

AWS RDS (MySQL/Postgres) and MongoDB

A focus on security and following best practices.
