A leading organisation in the financial services sector is seeking a Senior Capital Markets Strategist to drive market microstructure design, research, and analytics across multiple asset classes. This role plays a central part in defining how markets operate and evolve – locally and globally.
Responsibilities:
Provide strategic insight on market structure dynamics in South Africa and abroad
Conduct market microstructure research and benchmarking to inform trading patterns and liquidity strategies
Develop and maintain analytics assets including databases, code repositories, and reporting tools
Analyse data to support the design of execution functionality and contribute to revenue generation
Profile and rank clients by activity and revenue to identify business development opportunities
Drive market development by building networks across local and global industry leaders
Lead talent initiatives to build internal capability in market structure and multi-asset knowledge
Stay current with global market trends and regulatory changes impacting strategy
Requirements:
MSc degree with at least 10 years of experience in financial markets and data science
Deep knowledge of market structures across all asset classes
Strong technical background in coding, analytics, and database management
Solid understanding of multi-asset regulations and strategic impact
Proven ability to build strategic client relationships and support revenue growth
Skilled communicator with experience influencing across senior levels
