In this role, you will be responsible for the end-to-end quality assurance of applications, encompassing all testing phases, as well as the elicitation, documentation, and translation of business requirements into functional specifications for development. This role will work closely with business stakeholders to understand their needs, manage the system development lifecycle, and provide ongoing support and training.

Main duties and responsibilities will include the following:

  • Business Requirements Elicitation & Documentation: Elicit, analyse, document, and validate business requirements from stakeholders.
  • Requirements Translation: Convert business requirements into clear, concise, and testable functional business requirement documents (BRDs) for the development team.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Regularly communicate with business stakeholders to discuss new developments, gather feedback, and ensure alignment on requirements.
  • System Development Lifecycle (SDLC) Management: Manage and implement all aspects of the System Development Lifecycle, ensuring adherence to standards and best practices.
  • Test Strategy & Planning: Develop and implement comprehensive test strategies, plans, and test cases for all testing phases.
  • Test Execution & Management: Oversee the execution of test cases, track defects, and ensure timely resolution.
  • Deployment Management: Manage and coordinate application deployments, ensuring smooth transitions to production environments.
  • Hypercare & Support: Provide post-deployment hypercare support to clients, addressing issues and ensuring client satisfaction.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve testing solutions and processes, implementing best practices to enhance efficiency and quality.
  • Troubleshooting & Bug Resolution: Assist in troubleshooting application bugs and errors, identifying root causes, and proposing/implementing resolutions for both data and system defects.
  • Support & Training: Assist in the delivery of support and training materials to end-users.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Our ideal candidate will have qualifications and experience in the following fields:

Location

  • JHB based (will be required to attend on site meetings, training sessions, etc.)

Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred

Skills & Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in application testing and business analysis, with at least 2+ years in a lead or supervisory role.
  • Supply Chain, FMCG Experience: +/- 5 years focussing on IT and applications for FMCG
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills with a proven ability to elicit and translate business requirements.
  • Solid understanding of various testing methodologies (Agile, Waterfall).
  • Comprehensive understanding of the System Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Experience with test automation tools (e.g., Selenium, JUnit, TestNG) is desirable.
  • Proficiency with defect tracking systems (e.g., Jira, Bugzilla).
  • Strong proficiency in SQL and Oracle database technologies, including the ability to write complex queries for data validation and testing.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership and team management abilities.

  • Understand scrum methodology of managing projects
  • Understand and apply workflow cases

REMUNERATION:

This position will be offered a competitive salary with the added benefit of a Group pension fund, medical aid contribution, funeral policy and death/disability cover.
