Position title:OPERATIONS MANAGER: SAFETY & SECURITY
Position reports to:NATIONAL SOFT SERVICES MANAGER
Business Unit:CORPORATE FACILITIES
Mainpurpose/ objective of the position:
To manage safety and security  incumbent will be responsible for the following sites:
Sanlam & Santam Head Office, Glacier Place, Bellville data centre, Sanlam DR site, Tyger Park, external Sanlam group offices on request.
Decision making authority:
Subject to mandate received from client / portfolio management. Decisions are based on the knowledge of theory and systems. Required to choose from a limited array of routines or rules at his/her disposal. Works within specific prescribed policies and guidelines.
Experience /
Education:
A minimum of 5 years experience in Facilities/Operations/Security Management. Minimum qualification Grade 12.
Skills required:
People Management skills,Project Managementskills, Quality/standards awareness and implementation, basic contract management, co-ordination skills, Business Writing Skills (including specifications), Financial/Numeracy Skills, Computer Literacy-MS Office (Word, Excel and Outlook).
Knowledge required:
Knowledge of Company policies and procedures, Administration principles and reporting, working knowledge of statutory requirements, knowledge of cost budgeting and control.
Competencies required:
Customer & quality focus, Methodical,Teamworkand Cooperation,Problem solving& decision making, Financial & Business Acumen,Communication(on higher level), Tolerance for stress, Assertive, Drive and Productivity.

Grading and complexity;
Rental Levels;
Management complexity and intensity, projects, works orders.

Internal:Senior Portfolio Manager, Other Operations Managers, Financial Administrator, Store personnel, Handymen
External:Contractors, Landlord/client, Tenants, Energy forums, professional consultants
