Job Overview
We are currently seeking dedicated, reliable, and professional Security Officer. We are looking for officers who are passionate about serving the community and maintaining a safe, welcoming environment for staff, patrons, and visitors.
Security Officers are responsible for conducting regular patrols of the facility, monitoring activity, identifying and reporting safety or security concerns, and completing accurate reports of incidents and daily activities. This position requires strong attention to detail, good communication skills, sound judgment, and the ability to handle challenging situations calmly and professionally.
Responsibilities
- Conduct regular foot patrols throughout the facility, including interior and exterior areas.
- Maintain a visible security presence to help deter disruptive, unsafe, or unlawful behavior.
- Observe and report suspicious activity, safety hazards, property damage, security concerns, and policy violations.
- Complete accurate and detailed daily activity reports and incident reports as required.
- Maintain records of significant events, observations, and security-related activities occurring during the shift.
- Monitor entrances, exits, common areas, and other designated areas of the facility.
- Assist staff in maintaining a safe and orderly environment for employees and members of the public.
- Professionally inform patrons and visitors of applicable facility rules, policies, and procedures when necessary.
- Respond appropriately to disturbances, disruptive behavior, conflicts, and other security-related situations.
- Contact supervisors, law enforcement, emergency medical services, or other appropriate authorities when circumstances require.
- Identify and promptly report suspicious, unsafe, or potentially criminal activity.
- Report maintenance or safety concerns that could present a hazard to staff or patrons.
- Provide professional and courteous assistance to staff, patrons, and visitors.
- Follow all post orders, company policies, client procedures, and reporting requirements.
Qualifications & Skills
- Valid Hawaii Guard Employee Registration Card required.
- Strong observation skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to complete clear, accurate, and professional written reports.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to conduct regular foot patrols throughout the assigned facility.
- Strong conflict-management and de-escalation skills.
- Ability to remain calm and professional when dealing with difficult or disruptive individuals.
- Dependable, punctual, and capable of working independently.
- Ability to recognize and appropriately respond to safety and security concerns.
- Familiarity with security procedures, emergency response, and incident reporting.
- First Aid and CPR certification preferred, but not required.
