VACANCY – SECURITY GUARD
A well-established packaging manufacturer has 1x vacancy for a qualified security guard. The role is based in Cape Town, Southern Suburbs and will report to the Stores Manager.
This position is temporary with the opportunity to be made permanent.
The Job Requirements And Duties Are As Follows
- Patrolling the building perimeter and premises.
- Signing in all visitors entering the guarded premises.
- Checking and inspecting vehicles upon entry and exit of premises.
- Guarding company’s assets against theft and potential risk and/or hazards.
- Checking employee bags daily.
- Doing random Breathalyzer testing.
- Communicating all company policies in relation to safety and requirements.
- Alerting management of all emergencies and security breaches and ensuring that the relevant authorities required for emergencies or security breaches are contacted.
- Responding to all calls of alarm.
- Notifying management of any building defects noted or any fencing/guarding identified to have been damaged and/or deliberately damaged.
- Keeping daily logs of activities and any issues addressed.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12
- PSIRA Grade C Certificate
- Clear Criminal Record
- Minimum 2 years relevant experience
- Experience at a factory or manufacturing plant advantageous
- Valid Driver’s license
- Good communication skills
- Able to work under pressure
The position will be on a shift rotation which will include night and weekend shifts. Candidates would need to be available for overtime at short notice.
