We are seeking a talented and dedicated Seamstress Tailor to join our dynamic fashion retail team. Duties
- Perform clothing alterations and repairs with skillful stitching and pressing techniques to ensure perfect fit and finish
- Operate pressing machines and other garment finishing tools to achieve professional presentation
- Assist customers with fitting adjustments
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail and quality standards
- Follow garment construction procedures, ensuring accuracy in measurements, stitching, and finishing touches
- Maintain a clean, organized workspace and ensure all sewing equipment is properly cared for and functioning
Skills
- Proven experience in fashion retail environments or clothing alterations
- Strong knowledge of garment sewing, stitching techniques, and fabric materials
- Proficiency with sewing machines, pressing machines, and hand sewing tools
- Ability to operate press equipment safely and effectively for garment finishing
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly about alterations and fabric choices
- Understanding of men’s wear tailoring, women’s wear tailoring, and custom apparel production processes
- Basic math skills for measuring and pattern adjustments accurately
