Our product range includes luxurious 100% cotton towels and throws, embodying a seamless blend of heritage, quality, and contemporary elegance. These cherished additions to any home are available through our online store and our sister companies’ shops, Mia Mélange and Mia Africa.
In addition to retail, we supply boutique stores wholesale and partner with high-end resorts and game lodges. For businesses, we offer bespoke corporate gifting solutions, including customisable and branded towels, combining functionality with refined craftsmanship.
If you’re passionate about small business, sales, operations, and working with a brand that values quality and artisanship, we currently have a vacancy for an all-rounder Sales and Operations Manager!
The Cotton Company is looking for someone with an interest in sales and operations to take on a wide variety of tasks and responsibilities in our business. We are looking for someone very energetic and enthusiastic to join our team, who can work independently and take responsibility. We are looking for someone who is highly driven, motivated and has a creative flair.
The role is for an overall sales and operations manager who can run all aspects of the business, including wholesale liaison and sales, running our online store, product development, office admin, etc.
JOB DESCRIPTION
– running all aspects of the business
– managing all wholesale sales and wholesale liaison
– running the online store
– office and financial admin
– stock management
– product development (working with local and international suppliers)
– supplier liaison
– ensuring targets are met monthly
– packing and shipping orders
– organising the warehouse
– driving social media campaigns
– keeping the catalogue updated
– attending trade shows
– designing and implementing marketing campaigns
REQUIREMENTS
– a quick learner
– ability to take on a lot of responsibility
– ability to drive wholesale sales (wholesale experience is a bonus)
– ability to run an online store (experience is a bonus)
– highly organised with strong admin skills
– ability to put efficient systems in place
– very energetic & enthusiastic
– able to work at a fast pace
– good attention to detail
– creative in terms of new business & product ideas & marketing
– a keen interest in design
– computer literate
– ability to take initiative
– effective time management
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
– experience in a small business
– wholesale experience
– sales & marketing
– experience with Shopify
– proficient in Google Sheets and Quickbooks (or similar)
– experience with Canva
Successful applicants in the first round will be required to come for an interview. For the second round, we will require applicants to work a trial period of a few days. The role is based at our studio and office in Stellenbosch and may require occasional traveling to our Cape Town stores.
