Job Summary

The Sales Account Manager manages and grows a portfolio of B2B food-ingredient accounts by owning commercial outcomes (pipeline, pricing, negotiation, and deal closure) and leading cross-functional execution across Sourcing, Supply Chain, FSQA, and Finance.

The position reports directly to our Sales Director, based in Argentina.

Job Overview

This role exists to manage profitable growth and retention by turning complex customer needs into clear internal execution, so customers experience Source86 as consistent, reliable, and proactive (not reactive).

This role prioritizes deal flow, coaches account execution quality, and monitors revenue, margin, and customer trust through disciplined operating rhythms and clean systems.

You will collaborate across functions, resolve escalations, and raise the bar for commercial excellence.

Responsibilities

1 ) Own Selling, Negotiation, and Deal Closure

  • Manage a healthy pipeline within your portfolio: identify opportunities, qualify them, and prioritize the highest-impact deals.
  • Lead customer negotiations (pricing, MOQ, lead times, specs, terms) and close deals with strong margin discipline.
  • Decide commercial tradeoffs with clarity (service vs. margin vs. risk) and communicate “the why” internally and externally.
  • Forecast accurately: keep CRM/opportunity stages current, document assumptions, and monitor conversion and cycle-time

2) Manage Strategic Customer Relationships

  • Manage senior stakeholder relationships and handle complex conversations (constraints, price increases, service recovery).
  • Collaborate with customers to align on what “good” looks like: timelines, documentation, service levels, and escalation paths.
  • Cultivate long-term trust through proactive visibility, not reactive updates.

3) Lead Cross-Functional Execution (Promises Made → Promises Kept)

  • Collaborate with Sourcing, Supply Chain, FSQA, and Finance to confirm feasibility and align on delivery plans before commitments are made.
  • Resolve escalations by setting ownership, decision points, and timelines—and ensuring the loop closes with the customer.
  • Monitor account health (OTIF, complaints, lead-time adherence, credits) and problem-solve repeat failures with structured follow-through.

4) Delegate, Coach, and Raise the Bar

  • Delegate day-to-day execution tasks (follow-ups, trackers, documentation hygiene, meeting notes) while maintaining accountability for outcomes.
  • Evaluate performance through observable behaviors: follow-through, data accuracy, proactive risk visibility, and customer trust.

What We’re Looking For

Must-Haves

  • 5+ years in B2B food ingredients / technical-commercial / complex supply-chain sales with proven deal closure outcomes.
  • Strong commercial judgment: ability to manage margin, negotiate terms, and decide tradeoffs under constraints.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional execution and resolve ambiguity (ownership, timelines, stage clarity).
  • High standards of documentation and system hygiene (CRM, trackers, decision logs).

Nice-to-Haves

  • Experience with private label, reformulation/R&D commercialization, or complex technical approvals.
  • Experience selling in the US.
  • Familiarity with structured deal management (stage gates, SLAs, forecasting discipline).
  • Familiarity with CRM/process tooling and using dashboards to drive accountability and decisions.
  • Experience succeeding in a remote, global operating model.

🌍 Remote Work & Contract Setup

  • Remote, global team we’re fully distributed and work across multiple time zones.
  • Contractor model, 40 hours per week, with flexibility to overlap with U.S. and global customer hours and other team members.
