Are you an experienced Sales Engineer with a strong industrial background and a passion for growing customer relationships and winning new business?
We are looking for a high-energy, results-driven Sales Engineer to drive business growth across Cape Town, with a strong focus on industrial customers, distributors and end users.
What you’ll be doing
- Drive sales growth and achieve regional sales targets.
- Develop new business and grow existing customer relationships.
- Spend 70%+ of your time engaging directly with customers and end users.
- Build and strengthen distributor and channel partner relationships.
- Identify new opportunities across Manufacturing, Mining, Pulp & Paper/Forestry, Marine, Oil & Gas and FMCG.
- Sell and support Bearings and Power Transmission solutions, with an approximate 70% Bearings / 30% Power Transmission focus.
- Provide technical product guidance, presentations and training.
- Develop account plans and sales strategies for high-potential customers.
- Maintain a strong CRM pipeline and accurate sales forecasting.
- Monitor competitor activity and support pricing and negotiation strategies.
What we’re looking for
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, preferably Mechanical Engineering.
- 5+ years’ sales experience within industrial sectors such as bearings, mining, metals, cement, power generation, heavy industry or industrial distribution.
- Strong understanding of mechanical engineering, rotating equipment and industrial product applications.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Strong customer-facing, negotiation and influencing skills.
- CRM experience, ideally with platforms such as Salesforce.
- Strong MS Office skills, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
- Valid, unendorsed driver’s licence.
- South African citizen.
- Based in Kempton Park or within a 50 km radius.
- Conversational Afrikaans would be advantageous.
