Role Overview
We are seeking four driven Sales Associates (4 positions available) to join a cannabis retail team in Bryanston. This is a sales-focused role where success is measured by revenue generation, customer experience, and the ability to confidently upsell within a compliant retail environment.
The role requires strong sales instincts, the ability to understand customer needs, and the capability to translate product knowledge into increased basket value and customer loyalty.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver a professional, compliant, and engaging customer experience
- Understand customer needs and confidently recommend suitable products
- Drive sales through upselling, cross-selling, and promotions
- Maintain strong, up-to-date knowledge of cannabis products and trends
- Support execution of in-store marketing campaigns and promotions
- Meet and exceed individual and team sales targets
- Operate POS systems and manage transactions accurately
- Maintain store presentation, cleanliness, and stock levels
- Ensure adherence to all applicable local cannabis regulations
Shift Structure
- 16 shifts per month
- 8-hour shifts
- Rotational roster (including weekends, evenings, and public holidays)
Performance & Incentives
- Incentives are performance-based and tied to:
- Individual sales targets
- Average basket value and upselling performance
- Contribution to overall store revenue
- High performers will have growth opportunities within the business
Minimum Requirements
- Proven experience in retail or direct sales
- Strong ability to upsell and close sales
- Basic understanding of sales and marketing principles
- Excellent communication and customer engagement skills
- Ability to work flexible retail hours
Preferred Experience
- Experience in cannabis, wellness, lifestyle, or regulated retail environments
- Working knowledge of cannabis products (flower, edibles, oils, accessories)
- Understanding of compliance requirements in a regulated industry
