The main office and warehouse are located in Kempton Park, Johannesburg, with branches in Cape Town and representation in KwaZulu-Natal. MTT maintains extensive standard stock and customer-specific products in warehouses nationwide to support manufacturing industry needs. The company also operates a Service Center that processes aluminium products and supplies them cut to length or size according to customer specifications.
Role Description The Sales Assistant role at Metal and Tool Trade (Pty) Ltd is a full-time, on-site position based in the City of Cape Town. The Sales Assistant will support the sales team by handling customer inquiries, preparing quotations, processing orders, and ensuring accurate documentation in the sales system. This role involves providing professional customer service, maintaining product and pricing information, coordinating with warehousing and logistics to track deliveries, and following up on outstanding orders. The Sales Assistant will assist with stock availability checks, prepare basic sales reports, and help maintain an organized and efficient sales office environment. The role also includes collaborating with colleagues and management to meet sales targets and uphold company service standards.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong interpersonal skills and customer service abilities to build and maintain positive relationships with clients.
- Candidates should possess clear and professional communication skills, both verbal and written, to manage inquiries and documentation effectively.
- Candidates should possess basic sales skills and an interest in developing commercial acumen within a technical product environment.
- Candidates should possess solid organization skills to manage orders, records, and multiple tasks in a fast-paced setting.
- Relevant experience in a sales support, customer service, or administrative role, preferably in manufacturing, metals, or industrial distribution, is beneficial.
- Comfort working with computer systems, including CRM or ERP platforms, and proficiency in standard office software (e.g., email, spreadsheets, word processing) is advantageous.
- A completed secondary education; a post-school qualification in business, sales, or a related field is an advantage but not mandatory.
- Attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to work collaboratively on-site in the City of Cape Town are essential.
