POSITION INFO:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Route Controller to manage daily route planning, monitor deliveries, and ensure efficient communication between operations and customers. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating delivery schedules, tracking vehicle performance, managing route deviations, and ensuring on-time deliveries while maintaining accurate operational reporting. Minimum Requirements: Grade 12 (Degree or relevant tertiary qualification advantageous) Experience in Route Controlling within the Transport, FMCG, Warehousing, or Distribution industry Experience using route controlling systems Intermediate MS Office and MS Excel skills GP and WMS experience advantageous Key Responsibilities: Prepare and manage daily delivery and route plans Monitor vehicle movements and delivery progress in real time Track route deviations, delays, incidents, fuel consumption, and vehicle performance Communicate delivery schedule changes and delays to customers Coordinate with planning teams to ensure on-time deliveries and accurate ETAs Verify trip hours and kilometres for payroll support Prepare daily operational reports, including route performance, fuel usage, capacity utilisation, and on-time delivery metrics Support inbound storage planning and outbound communication Skills & Competencies: Excellent planning, organisational, and time management skills Strong attention to detail and analytical ability Effective communication and customer service skills Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment Strong problem-solving skills with a results-driven approach Accountable, proactive, and deadline-focused Ability to adapt quickly and work effectively within a dynamic team environment
