Minimum Requirements
Matric certificate/ equivalent
Section 13 Trade Test (Section 26D) as qualified Rigger
At least 3 years’ underground and shaft experience as qualified Artisan
Competent B Certificate
Valid driver’s license and reliable own transport
Medically fit
Valid First Aid Certificate
Experience, Knowledge & Skills
At least 5 years’ experience with Winders, ropes, shaft work, head gears and vertical shaft maintenance.
Workshop procedures, installation, and maintenance
Maintenance of quality engineering standard
Knowledge of environmental, health and safety standards and regulations
Roles & Responsibilities
Conduct daily inspections to ensure the safe and effective operation of machinery and equipment
Ensure the safe and effective handling of all Engineering machinery and equipment
Responsible for all lifting equipment
Assist the Shaft with all rigging duties
Performing Planned Maintenance duties
Sign off all daily check performed by self and subordinates
Submit reports as required
Ensure all safety regulations are followed and that all staff are equipped with the necessary safety gear and knowledge
