Job Overview
Duties
- Greet customers warmly and identify their needs through active communication and attentive listening
- Assist shoppers with product selection, including plants, gardening supplies, lawn care equipment, and floral arrangements
- Provide expert plant identification and horticulture advice to help customers make informed decisions
- Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems accurately for sales transactions, cash handling, and receipts
- Maintain organized merchandising displays and stock shelves to ensure an appealing shopping environment
- Manage inventory by stocking shelves, conducting stock checks, and assisting with inventory counts
- Offer exceptional customer service by answering questions via phone or in person about outdoor work, landscape maintenance, or product features
Qualifications
- Prior experience or strong interest in lawn care, gardening, landscape maintenance, or horticulture is preferred
- Knowledge of plant identification and floral design enhances customer assistance skills
- Experience with POS systems, cashiering, and retail math ensures efficient transactions
- Excellent communication skills in English; multilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse customers
- Outdoor work experience and familiarity with outdoor tools or equipment are advantageous
- Strong organizational skills for merchandising, stocking, and maintaining store cleanliness
- Ability to handle cash accurately and perform retail sales confidently while providing outstanding customer service
