Responsible for assisting in the management of the Property. Assist in ensuring maximum income of the Property through effective property management. Assists in the development of related budgets, oversees leasing contracts, procures services, handles third-party service contracts, and directs maintenance procedures. Ensures that all buildings, grounds, and equipment are well maintained and in optimal working condition. Implements departmental and procurement policies and procedures and ensures that all operations are in accordance with established health and safety regulations.
Ensures that services purchased are of acceptable quality in compliance with procurement policy. Ensures student queries are attended to. Keeps management well informed of area activities and significant problems.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Job Requirements :
Assumes responsibility for the effective operations management of Property and related facilities.
Student management
Engage students on needs and evaluations
Formulate and/or advance standard procedures for dealing with a range of regularly occurring crises related to the care of students, housing facilities, and services
Assist with leasing process, application process, intakes/vacate process, site coordination, compliance to house rules, student life programs, event management, inspection process, key handover, student mentoring, student files, and other management team assistance.
Building management
Maintain management systems for student accommodation, develop stakeholder relationships, manage repairs, refurbishments, inspections, site compliance, asset register, meter reading, sub-contractors, maintenance, risk management, and ensure security of document storage.
Leases
Assist with lease negotiations, document preparation, revenue stamping, signatory management, and record tracking.
Reports
Ensure accurate student schedules, vacancy updates, compile monthly reports, and assist with budget conformance, document management, and financial reporting.
General
Maintain financial records, prepare management reports, develop vendor relations, supervise personnel, and ensure work area maintenance. Complete special projects and report operational metrics.
Public Relations : Assist with PR/Marketing functions, participate in meetings, plan services, and develop university relationships.
Skills Essential to the Role
Education:
Matriculation, property management training preferred. Knowledge of property management, budgeting, contracts, leasing.
Experience:
4+ years. Skills:
Leadership, organization, problem-solving, communication, technical maintenance skills, and ability to relate to student needs.
