Responsibilities
Support AfriDSAI’s research portfolio by coordinating proposal development, tracking the fundraising pipeline, and strengthening relationships with funders and collaborators. This role contributes to building AfriDSA’s research development capability and support the institute’s long-term sustainability and growth.
The successful candidate will be responsible for but not limited to:
- Research Development Support
- Grant Coordination and Development
- Stakeholder and Partnerships Support
- Systems, Reporting and Learning
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelors / B-Tech Degree in Computer Science, AI, Data Science or related discipline.
- At least 3 years’ experience in research management, fundraising, and stakeholder engagement or related roles in a Higher Education or Research Institution

Knowledge of the following:
- Research funding landscape;
- Grant management;
- Grant administration and management processes;
- Knowledge of academic research;
- Strategic planning;
- Compliance regulations;
- Research ethics, and ethics management committee review processes;
- Stakeholder engagement;
- Knowledge of and ability to use effective approached for choosing a course of action or developing appropriate solutions and/ or reaching conclusions;
- Knowledge of appropriate policies and procedures for day-to-day management of the financial aspects of a specific program.
Technical Competencies
- Computer Skills (Excel, Word & PowerPoint);
- Project Management;
- Enterprises Resource Planning System;
- Financial Management;
- Fundraising
- Data management, analysis and reporting tools to support data-driven decision making.
Behavioural Competencies
- Ability to identify issues, obtain relevant information, relate and compare data from different sources, and identify alternative solutions;
- Ability to plan and monitor the use of expenditures to meet organizational objectives and compliance;
- Ability to prepare budget documents and reports;
- Ability to allocate resources, plan procurement, and oversee budgets and contracts to ensure fiscal stability of the organization;
- Ability to instruct and train employees, students, faculty and/ or other clients;
- Good interpersonal skills of working in an environment of diverse cultures and groups;
- Good language and communication skills;
- Ability to work independently and in a group;
- Organizational and time management skills.
Added Advantages And Preferences
- Honours Degree in Computer Science, AI, Data Science or related discipline;
- 5 years’ experience in research proposal development, funding environments, or academic contexts;
- A valid driver’s license

The annual remuneration package will be commensurate with the incumbent’s level
