We’re hiring Senior/ Renewable Energy Engineers to deliver feasibility studies, technical & commercial due diligence, independent engineering and independent technical advisory to investors, developers, IPPs and owners across solar, wind and BESS projects.

Our project work is often fast-paced with tight timeframes. You must be willing to work with complex tasks under such deadline pressure and be comfortable in managing workflow to deliver excellent work on schedule.

We’re looking for a Project Engineer ready to learn fast, lead technical workstreams and shape the quality standards of our growing technical team. You’ll work directly with clients and lenders on some of the continent’s most significant renewable energy projects.

Role Description The Renewable Energy Engineer will work on the design, analysis, and implementation of renewable energy projects, with a focus on wind and solar solutions in the Johannesburg Metropolitan Area. This full-time, on-site role involves performing technical feasibility studies, energy yield assessments, and system modeling for new and existing projects. The engineer will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop optimized system designs, prepare technical documentation, and support project development from concept through execution. Day-to-day tasks include site assessments, data analysis, performance monitoring, and contributing to client proposals and reports. The role also entails staying up to date with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and emerging technologies in the African renewables sector.

Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess strong knowledge of solar technologies, including Solar Power and Solar Energy system design and analysis.
  • Candidates should possess expertise in Wind Energy, including resource assessment, turbine selection, and performance evaluation.
  • Candidates should possess a solid understanding of Renewable Energy Systems and the broader Energy Industry, with experience integrating multiple technologies.
  • Candidates should possess skills in technical modeling and simulation tools (e.g., PVsyst, WindPRO, HOMER, or similar) and data analysis software.
  • Candidates should possess a relevant engineering degree (e.g., Electrical, Mechanical, Renewable Energy) or equivalent qualification, with prior experience in renewable energy projects preferred.
  • Candidates should possess strong problem-solving abilities, clear written and verbal communication skills, and the capacity to work collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Candidates should possess familiarity with South African energy regulations, grid connection requirements, and health and safety standards; experience in the African renewables context is an advantage.
