About the Role

The Regulatory Affairs Manager is responsible for managing Comsol Networks’ relationships with telecommunications regulators and ensuring the company’s operations, licenses, and network deployments comply with applicable laws and industry regulations. This role acts as the primary link between the business and regulatory bodies, providing guidance to internal teams on compliance requirements while representing Comsol Networks’ interests in regulatory matters, consultations, and industry forums.

Responsibilities

Regulatory Compliance & Strategy

  • Monitor, interpret, and communicate changes in telecommunications regulation, licensing requirements, and industry standards relevant to Comsol Networks’ operations
  • Develop and maintain the company’s regulatory compliance framework, ensuring all business units understand and meet their obligations
  • Manage the application, renewal, and maintenance of telecommunications licenses, spectrum authorizations, and other regulatory permits
  • Assess the regulatory impact of new products, services, network deployments, and business initiatives, providing guidance to relevant teams
  • Maintain a regulatory risk register and ensure timely mitigation of identified compliance risks

Stakeholder & Regulator Engagement

  • Serve as the primary point of contact with telecommunications regulators, government bodies, and industry associations
  • Represent Comsol Networks in regulatory consultations, public inquiries, and industry working groups
  • Prepare and submit regulatory filings, license applications, and responses to regulator requests or inquiries
  • Build and maintain constructive relationships with key regulatory stakeholders to support the company’s long-term interests
  • Track and respond to regulatory consultations that may affect the business, coordinating input from relevant internal teams

Internal Advisory & Governance

  • Advise senior leadership on regulatory risks, obligations, and strategic implications of regulatory developments
  • Partner with Legal, Network Engineering, and Product teams to ensure regulatory considerations are embedded in planning and decision-making
  • Develop internal policies, training, and guidance materials to support company-wide regulatory compliance
  • Prepare regular reporting on regulatory compliance status, risks, and upcoming obligations for executive leadership and the board where required
  • Support due diligence processes for new market entry, mergers, acquisitions, or partnerships from a regulatory perspective

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in regulatory affairs, compliance, or government relations within the telecommunications, ICT, or related regulated industry
  • Strong understanding of telecommunications regulatory frameworks, licensing regimes, and spectrum management (specific to your operating market/region)
  • Proven experience engaging directly with regulators, government bodies, or industry associations
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience preparing regulatory submissions and formal correspondence
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex regulations and translate them into practical business guidance
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in Law, Public Policy, Telecommunications, or a related field (postgraduate qualification advantageous)
