Vigilant Healthcare Solutions is seeking a skilled Registered Polysomnographic Technologist for a full-time, long-term contract opportunity in Tacoma, WA.
This is an excellent opportunity for experienced Sleep Technologists and Polysomnographic Technicians looking to work independently in a well-equipped sleep lab alongside a collaborative clinical team.
Registered Polysomnographic Technologist Responsibilities
- Independently perform overnight and daytime polysomnographic sleep studies, including diagnostic, split-night, and titration studies, as well as parasomnia montage studies
- Perform daytime testing, including Multiple Sleep Latency Tests (MSLT) and Maintenance of Wakefulness Tests (MWT)
- Conduct Home Sleep Apnea Testing (HSAT), including device preparation, patient instruction, and data download
- Score sleep studies, including respiratory events, sleep stages, arousals, limb movements, and cardiac rhythm, preparing studies for interpretation
- Set up, calibrate, and operate 16- and 32-channel PSG equipment, monitoring airflow, pulse oximetry, ECG, muscle tone, and digital video
- Apply, monitor, and adjust PAP therapy (CPAP, BiLevel, BiLevel ASV, BiLevel ST/VAPS) per AASM titration guidelines
- Document patient charts, tracings, and technical notes in the electronic health record
Registered Polysomnographic Technologist Requirements
- Current RPSGT certification through the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (BRPT)
- Active, full and unrestricted sleep technologist license, if required by the state of practice
- Minimum of 2 years of experience independently performing sleep laboratory services
- Current BLS certification
- Ability to work independently without on-site supervision
- Strong attention to detail and ability to respond calmly to urgent clinical events
Schedule
- Full-time | Night shift (approximately Thursday–Saturday, 6:00 PM–7:00/7:30 AM), subject to change based on lab operational needs
- Schedules posted at least 3 weeks in advance
- Long-term contract opportunity (base year plus up to 4 option years)
