We currently have a vacancy for a highly skilled and motivated
Registered Nurse
to join our
dynamic
surgical team in the
Spinal Theatre
.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and manage sterile surgical environments for spinal procedures.
Scrub for spinal surgeries and assist the surgical team as required.
Maintain strict adherence to infection control protocols.
Ensure accurate instrument counts and efficient handling of surgical equipment.
Provide holistic patient care and support during perioperative phases.
Ensuring accurate charging by managing theatre clocking time.
Ensuring consignment stock, equipment and prosthesis is charged according to the policy.
Managing stock by participating in regular stock taking and controlling of the consignment stock in accordance with the hospital (local) policy.
Obtaining the correct information pre – operatively and visiting the patient post – operatively.
Ensuring that the patient is comfortable and assist the doctor during surgical procedure.
Requirements
Current registration with SANC as a Registered Nurse.
Theatre experience, with proven scrub experience in spinal procedures preferred.
Strong knowledge of theatre protocols and sterile techniques.
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
