Our client is seeking a Registered Nurse to be based in the Helderberg area for an old age home – frail care
.
Duties
include the following, but not limited to:
Take over day and night report.
Provide instructions to staff regarding tasks.
Conduct daily rounds with residents.
Report to the Manager regarding the residents’ status.
Input regarding residents’ nutritional needs and ensure prescriptions from dieticians/doctors are carried out within facility policies.
Refer residents to relevant services (e.g., Pathology, X-Rays, Doctors) in a timely manner.
Update and adjust care plans as necessary.
Accompany doctors on rounds and execute instructions immediately.
Monitor and interpret vital signs; record vital signs accurately.
Check emergency equipment weekly and after use.
Compile care plans following the nursing process.
Prepare daily work lists.
Ensure all required forms are used correctly.
Report incidents and problems to management.
Order, receive, and record medication.
Store resident medication correctly and dispose of it properly.
Maintain infection prevention and control measures.
Adhere to all protocols and procedures.
Supervise and train staff in resource use.
Attend all training sessions provided by management.
Requirements:
A relevant nursing qualification.
Registration with SANC.
Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience with the elderly.
Excellent communication skills in English and Afrikaans.
Commitment to clinical excellence.
Able and willing to learn new procedures and techniques.
Effective patient care skills.
Willing to work shifts – 7am to 7pm shifts.
Salary: R24,000, including pension and medical aid.
