Job Description
Job Purpose:
To ensure fleet compliance, managing and maintaining the fleet and transport team ensuring that productivity and performance are maximized. Perform fleet audits to optimize fleet efficiencies and manage service providers to ensure efficient and cost-effective repair and servicing of the Bakery Fleet.
Responsibilities
Investigate compliance with established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to transport operations.
Identify deviations and implement corrective actions to ensure adherence to technical standards and regulatory requirements.
Develop and update SOPs in line with industry best practices.
Offer hands-on technical guidance to regional teams and fleet operators.
Troubleshoot and resolve technical and mechanical issues affecting fleet performance and safety.
Serve as the first point of contact for escalated operational or maintenance concerns.
Assess and implement improvements on both new and existing fleet assets to enhance performance, reliability, and compliance.
Coordinate modifications and upgrades in line with operational needs and technological advancements.
Collaborate with engineering teams to develop innovative transport solutions.
Oversee contracts and performance of external suppliers and service providers related to vehicle maintenance, repair, and parts supply.
Establish KPIs and conduct regular performance reviews.
Ensure timely delivery and quality service from third-party partners.
Schedule and perform regular audits to assess fleet condition, safety, and compliance with internal and external standards.
Document audit findings and work with regional teams to implement improvement plans.
Use audit results to drive data-driven decisions on fleet management and maintenance planning.
Qualification Requirements
N3 Trade qualification (Diesel Mechanic) or (post graduate degree in transport / logistics)
Experience Requirements
5 years’ experience in fleet management
