Job Purpose:
To oversee daily facilities operations for retail stores within the Inland region (South Africa and cross-border), ensuring uninterrupted business operations, regulatory compliance, and optimal performance in support of the National Facilities Manager.
Job Objectives:
Daily oversight of store facility operations across assigned regions.
Execution of preventative and reactive maintenance aligned with OEM standards.
Performance management of vendors and SLA compliance monitoring.
Implementation and audit of safety, health, and environmental standards (OHS Act, Environmental Act, internal policies).
Regional facilities budget control and performance reporting (including KRA metrics).
PPM scheduling, plant inspections, and asset condition monitoring (generators, HVAC, lighting, plumbing).
Record-keeping and documentation compliance across operational processes.
Stakeholder engagement with store teams, contractors, and support departments.
Minimum Requirements:
Education:
Essential: Matric/Grade 12, NQF 4 in Facilities Management, Project Management.
Desirable: NQF 5/6 in Facilities Management, Electrical Apprenticeship / Trade Test, Wireman’s License
Job Experience:
Minimum 5 years in technical facilities management within retail environment or multiple site / client management
Job Related Knowledge & Skills:
Expertise in electrical, plumbing, fire protection, HVAC (Chilled Water and DX), power/generator systems, lift inspections, and general building upkeep.
Familiarity with BMS systems, safety compliance, and technical staff management.
Strong analytical, planning, and troubleshooting skills.
Electrical testing and diagnostics, cooling/load calculations.
General maintenance (Plumbing, Electrical, Building).
Project and subcontractor management.
Compliance enforcement (OHAS, SANS, Environmental Act).
Computer literacy; reporting proficiency (SLA, PPM, work logs).
Team leadership, stakeholder engagement, and performance coaching.
