Regional Marketing Specialist – Africa (English & French Markets)

 

Main Responsibilities – Regional Activation & Market Execution

The Regional Marketing Specialist Africa is responsible for the regional activation of the company's marketing strategy, ensuring marketing activities contribute to funnel generation, brand visibility, and the roll-out of regional marketing deliverables in line with agreed strategy and budgets.

The successful candidate must have native-level English proficiency and professional proficiency in written and spoken French.

The Africa office is located in Umhlanga, South Africa. Office presence is required (minimum 2 days per week). Occasional travel across Africa for events, meetings and visits to the Casablanca office in Morocco is also required. The role reports to the Head of Marketing and Communications EMEA.

The Regional Marketing Specialist Africa comprises of 4 main areas:

1. Event Management

End-to-end planning, coordination, and execution of regional events aligned with the company's marketing strategy and commercial priorities.

This includes:

  • Trade shows and exhibitions
  • Industry seminars and technical events
  • Company-hosted customer and industry events
  • Distributor and partner events in company offices or at partner sites
  • Technical webinars (native or in cooperation with partners)

Responsibilities include management and delivery of the event KPIs, coordination with internal stakeholders and/or partners, brand messaging, and post-event reporting to ensure activities contribute to the region's sales opportunity funnel.

2. Channel Partner Marketing (Co-op Programmes)

Generation, activation, monitoring and analysis of marketing activities executed jointly with channel partners and distributors. These initiatives may include:

  • Sponsorships
  • Co-exhibiting at events
  • Visibility on partner websites or platforms
  • Co-branded literature and promotional assets
  • Videos and webinars
  • Media packs
  • Promotional merchandising
  • Other co-op marketing initiatives agreed with partners

The role ensures partner activities align with regional strategy and channel needs, acting as a liaison with partners and distributors to support funnel KPIs.

3. Regional Market Activation

Localisation and activation of central marketing campaigns within the region's markets, as well as development and execution of targeted regional initiatives. This includes:

  • Activation of global or central marketing campaigns in the region
  • Regional campaign activation ("market-making")
  • Influencer collaboration and management
  • Vertical Media & PR activation
  • Regional newsletters, case studies, videos, and market research initiatives designed to increase brand awareness, reach and relevance within the region.

4. Reporting, KPI Management & Regional Coordination

The role delivers on the delivery of regional marketing KPIs by:

  • Monitoring marketing activity, performance and ROI
  • Providing regular reporting on regional marketing activities and results
  • Supporting KPI tracking and recommending corrective actions as required
  • Coordinating with central marketing teams and commercial stakeholders to ensure alignment with strategy and budgets

Digital & Social Media Scope

Digital marketing, website management, design, and social media channel management are handled by the central marketing team. Regional Marketing Specialists will provide regional content as relevant. The regional role focuses on field activation, partner engagement, and event execution rather than digital and social media platform management.

Experience, Skills & Knowledge Required

Technical Skills / Knowledge / Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience in end-to-end event management, including trade shows, seminars, and partner events
  • Experience in B2B regional marketing activation and campaigns
  • Experience working with channel partners and/or distributors
  • Experience operating within a KPI-driven and data-driven marketing environment
  • Ability to track, analyse, and report on marketing funnel performance
  • Experience coordinating regional marketing initiatives following a global strategy
  • Strong ability to analyse and improve campaigns
  • Ability to work effectively within established marketing strategies and budgets
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Language Requirements

  • Native-level English proficiency (required)
  • Professional proficiency in written and spoken French (required)

Remuneration

  • R43,300 – R54,200 per month + a bonus structure
