Our client, a leading player in sustainable infrastructure solutions, is seeking a high-impact Regional Business Development Manager to spearhead expansion across the Inland region. This is a rare opportunity to shape strategy, lead high-performing teams, and make a tangible difference in the Water, Waste, and Energy sectors.

Role Responsibilities:

As the strategic force behind Inland region growth, you will:

  • Lead and execute regional business development plans, aligning with national sales objectives across all three sectors.
  • Define and exceed annual sales targets, focusing on key verticals and market segments.
  • Build and nurture strategic relationships with new and existing clients to secure a competitive edge.
  • Drive tendering and contract acquisition, especially for large-scale municipal and industrial projects, including PPPs.
  • Champion the company’s presence at industry events, conferences, and seminars to elevate brand visibility.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing, Communications, and Technical teams to promote the full suite of services.
  • Mentor and lead the Inland Business Development team, fostering a culture of performance, innovation, and continuous learning.
  • Provide market intelligence, reporting on competitor activity and upcoming project opportunities.
  • Oversee commercial and contractual negotiations, ensuring alignment with company profitability and risk frameworks.
  • Travel extensively within the Inland region to engage clients, conduct site visits, and drive business growth.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, or a BCom in Sales/Marketing. An MBA is a strong advantage.
  • 10 years’ experience in Business Development or Sales within Industrial Chemicals, Energy Services, or Infrastructure Projects.
  • Proven success in B2B sales within utilities (Water, Waste, or Energy), especially in industrial contexts.
  • Strong financial acumen, including experience with P&L analysis and project profitability.
  • Deep understanding of contractual frameworks and commercial negotiations.
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace and cloud-based tools like Docu Sign.
  • A persuasive, confident communicator with exceptional interpersonal skills and a track record of building high-level client relationships.
  • A self-starter with resilience, strategic thinking, and a passion for sustainable development.
