Refractory Mason Jobs in Springs, Gauteng 1575 at PFG Building Glass ( New Era Springs)
Job Purpose:
As a Refractory Mason, your primary responsibility will be to support and ensure the optimal performance of our operations by closely monitoring and resolving engineering-related issues. You will apply technically sound practices and procedures to maintain and repair equipment, ensuring compliance with safety standards while meeting production targets.
Objectives:
Conduct mechanical (refractory) inspections and preventative maintenance in designated areas to ensure optimal process performance.
Perform equipment breakdown repairs to minimise downtime and achieve production targets.
Identify and analyse reasons for downtime, implementing corrective measures to resolve faults promptly.
Report adverse plant conditions to the Maintenance Team Leader and liaise with the Production Department to reduce production interruptions.
Contribute to World Class Manufacturing standards by following procedures, conducting risk assessments, and performing task observations.
Assist in training and coaching apprentices to enhance safety awareness and compliance.
Qualifications:
N3 in Civil Engineering / Masonry / Bricklaying
Trade Certificate – Mason / Bricklayer
Main Functional Knowledge:
Technical knowledge in refractory installation
Working knowledge of refractories and sealing materials
Understanding of water and air cooling systems
Familiarity with measuring equipment, pneumatics, and pumps
Knowledge of shutdown maintenance and compliance with the OHS Act
Understanding of gas and diesel firing systems
