Anavah Recovery is a residential substance use treatment program dedicated to helping individuals build meaningful, recovery-focused lives. We believe recovery is built upon accountability, healthy boundaries, personal responsibility, and positive community support.

We are seeking mature, dependable, and recovery-oriented individuals who can serve as positive role models while maintaining professional standards and appropriate boundaries.

This position is not simply a peer support role. Team members play an essential part in the day-to-day operation of the facility and help create a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment for residents.

Position Summary

The Peer Support Specialist / Residential Recovery Technician provides direct supervision and support to clients in residential treatment.

Staff members assist residents with daily living activities, transportation, meal preparation, recovery support, documentation, safety monitoring, and maintaining program structure.

Successful candidates are professional, accountable, emotionally mature, and able to balance compassion with clear boundaries.

Responsibilities

Recovery Support

  • Build supportive, recovery-oriented relationships with residents
  • Model healthy communication and recovery behaviors
  • Encourage personal responsibility and accountability
  • Support residents in achieving treatment and recovery goals
  • Assist with recovery-related activities and community integration

Residential Supervision

  • Supervise residents and maintain a safe therapeutic environment
  • Conduct room checks and facility inspections
  • Monitor adherence to house rules and program expectations
  • Assist with conflict resolution and behavioral concerns
  • Report and document significant incidents

Documentation

  • Complete shift notes and resident observations
  • Document incidents, concerns, and behavioral observations
  • Maintain accurate and timely records
  • Communicate important information to leadership and clinical staff

Transportation

  • Transport residents to appointments, meetings, and approved activities
  • Conduct vehicle inspections and maintain vehicle cleanliness
  • Follow transportation policies and safety procedures

Food Preparation

  • Prepare and serve meals according to menus and recipes
  • Follow food safety and sanitation standards
  • Maintain kitchen cleanliness and organization
  • Accurately follow measurements and instructions

Animal Care

  • Assist with daily care of facility animals
  • Monitor animal health and wellbeing
  • Report concerns to supervisors

Case Management Support

  • Assist residents with schedules, appointments, and daily responsibilities
  • Support organization and follow-through with treatment goals
  • Communicate resident needs to appropriate staff

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum age 21
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
  • Ability to pass Direct Access Clearance System (DACS)background screening
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to type and complete documentation electronically
  • Ability to read and follow written policies and procedures
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to maintain professional boundaries
  • Have Peer Support Specialist Certification, or will obtain within six months of hire
  • Have food handlers permit, or obtain within two weeks of hire

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in behavioral health
  • Experience in substance use treatment
  • Experience in residential treatment settings
  • CPR/First Aid Certification
  • Recovery coaching experience
  • Experience working in group living environments

Pay: $13.00 – $17.00 per hour

Expected hours: 24.0 – 40.0 per week
